Enhance Multi-domain Sentiment Analysis of Review Texts through Prompting Strategies
Large Language Models (LLMs) have made significant strides in both scientific
research and practical applications. Existing studies have demonstrated the
state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance of LLMs in various natural language
processing tasks. However, the question of how to further enhance LLMs'
performance in specific task using prompting strategies remains a pivotal
concern. This paper explores the enhancement of LLMs' performance in sentiment
analysis through the application of prompting strategies. We formulate the
process of prompting for sentiment analysis tasks and introduce two novel
strategies tailored for sentiment analysis: RolePlaying (RP) prompting and
Chain-of-thought (CoT) prompting. Specifically, we also propose the RP-CoT
prompting strategy which is a combination of RP prompting and CoT prompting. We
conduct comparative experiments on three distinct domain datasets to evaluate
the effectiveness of the proposed sentiment analysis strategies. The results
demonstrate that the adoption of the proposed prompting strategies leads to a
increasing enhancement in sentiment analysis accuracy. Further, the CoT
prompting strategy exhibits a notable impact on implicit sentiment analysis,
with the RP-CoT prompting strategy delivering the most superior performance
among all strategies
EPCglobal Network Integrated Dynamic Carbon Footprints on Mobile Phones
Dynamic carbon footprint reflects potential differences between instances of the same product. To deliver dynamic carbon footprint to end consumers, we should adopt a new and innovative style as it cannot be implemented by common physical labels. This paper presents how EPCglobal network can be used to track carbon emissions, which then are the input of Sourcemap to create a lifecycle map. What’s more, the lifecycle map is displayed on mobile phones to be a convincing persuasive technology
Molecular dynamic simulation of low-energy FIB irradiation induced damage in diamond
In this article, a large scale multi-particle molecular dynamics (MD) simulation model was developed to study the dynamic structural changes in single crystal diamond under 5 keV Ga+ irradiation in conjunction with a transmission electron microscopy (TEM) experiment. The results show that the thickness of ion-induced damaged layer (∼9.0 nm) obtained from experiments and simulations has good accordance, which demonstrates the high accuracy achieved by the developed MD model. Using this model, the evolution of atomic defects, the spatial distributions of implanted Ga particles and the thermal spike at the very core collision area were analysed. The local thermal recrystallizations observed during each single ion collision process and the increase of the density of the non-diamond phase (mostly sp2 bonded) at irradiation area are fund to be the underling mechanisms responsible for ion fluence dependent amorphization of diamond observed in previous experiments
A Proposed Cross Platform Privacy and Security Framework for Supply Chain Information Sharing
Information sharing has become eminent to supply chain management, as it allows supply chain partners to collaborate more closely. However, currently supply chain partners are often on disjoint information platforms, which prevent them from effectively sharing critical supply chain information. One of the main barriers of information sharing is revealing confidential information to unintended parties and thus the disclosure of privacy. Therefore the information sharing needs and characteristics of a supply chain has been analyzed and subsequently a cross platform privacy and security framework to allow safe information sharing has been proposed
Value Analysis Framework for RFID Technology Adoption in Retailers in China
Recently, RFID has emerged to be a promising technology to revolutionize the supply chain and logistics management. Currently there exists a sharp contrast between retailers in China and their counterparts in the United States with respect for RFID adoption. In the United States, big retailers like Wal-Mart are actively pursuing RFID by issuing mandates to their suppliers worldwide for RFID adoption. However, retailers in China never enjoy such a dominating role in pursuing RFID. To explore what is behind this phenomenon, in this paper, an analysis framework is proposed to develop decision support tools for RFID technology adoption analysis in retailers in China. The framework is realized in a service platform developed based on three principles to help reach mutual understanding between RFID vendors and customers in RFID technology adoption analysis. The framework is illustrated and validated through an example to demonstrate its feasibility to help to analyze the adoption of RFID technologies retailers in China. The technology analysis service platform integrates various tools enabling interactive and flexible analysis processes to understand how RFID technology can be adopted and used effectively in retailers in China and in logistics and supply chain management
High-order wavelet reconstruction for multi-scale edge aware tone mapping
This paper presents a High Order Reconstruction (HOR) method for improved multi-scale edge aware tone mapping. The study aims to contribute to the improvement of edge-aware techniques for smoothing an input image, while keeping its edges intact. The proposed HOR methods circumvent limitations of the existing state of the art methods, e.g., altering the image structure due to changes in contrast; remove artefacts around edges; as well as reducing computational complexity in terms of implementation and associated computational costs. In particular, the proposed method aims at reducing the changes in the image structure by intrinsically enclosing an edge-stop mechanism whose computational cost is comparable to the state-of-the-art multi-scale edge aware techniques
Antecedents of low carbon emissions supply chains
Purpose: A low-carbon economy is the pressing need of the hour. Despite several efforts taken by the government and large corporations, there is still research to be conducted exploring the role of top management commitment in translating external pressures into responses that help to build low-carbon emissions in supply chains.
Design/methodology/approach: The authors have grounded their framework in institutional theory, agency theory and contingency theory. On the basis of existing literature, four hypotheses were drawn. To test these hypotheses, a questionnaire was developed and pre-tested. Finally, statistical analyses were performed to test the research hypotheses using 176 samples gathered using a pre-tested questionnaire following Dillman’s (2007) total design test method.
Findings: The results suggest that coercive pressures and mimetic pressures under the mediating effect of top management commitment have a significant influence on organizational response to low-carbon emissions. The authors further note that supply base complexity has moderating effects on the link between top management commitment and organizational response towards low-carbon emissions.
Originality/value: This study offers valuable insights to those managers and environmental consultants who view supply base complexity as a limitation. However, the results indicate that supply base complexity may help to enhance the effectiveness of the top management commitment on organizational response towards low-carbon emissions
Review on FIB-induced damage in diamond materials
Background: Although various advanced FIB processing methods for the fabrication of 3D nanostructures have been successfully developed by many researchers, the FIB milling has an unavoidable result in terms of the implantation of ion source materials and the formation of damaged layer at the near surface. Understanding the ion-solid interactions physics provides a unique way to control the FIB produced defects in terms of their shape and location. Methods: We have carefully selected peer-reviewed papers which mainly focusing on the review questions of this paper. A deductive content analysis method was used to analyse the methods, findings and conclusions of these papers. Based on their research methods, we classify their works in different groups. The theory of ion-matter interaction and the previous investigation on ion-induced damage in diamond were reviewed and discussed. Results: The previous research work has provided a systematic analysis of ion-induced damage in diamond. Both experimental and simulation methods have been developed to understand the damage process. The damaged layers created in FIB processing process can significantly degrade/alter the device performance and limit the applications of FIB nanofabrication technique. There are still challenges involved in fabricating large, flat, and uniform TEM samples in undoped non-conductive diamond. Conclusions: The post-facto-observation leaves a gap in understanding the formation process of ioninduced damage, forcing the use of assumptions. In contrast, MD simulations of ion bombardment have shed much light on ion beam mixing for decades. These activities make it an interesting and important task to understand what the fundamental effects of energetic particles on matter are
